Young Creators – Join EYCA’s new programme!

Camera, Lights, Action!

Are you overflowing with creative energy? Passionate about making videos? And a natural in front of the camera? If so, this is an opportunity for you!

We’re looking for 8 volunteers* to be part of our Young Creators programme. This new initiative aims to provide a voice to young people and showcase the topics that they feel are important.

* We’d ideally like to include one participant in the European Solidarity Corps Programme, one participant in DiscoverEU, and one member of the EYCA Youth Panel. All 8 volunteers should have a valid European Youth Card.

What is the Young Creators programme?

We think the best people to talk about matters relevant to young people, are young people themselves. Involving young people is at the core of our actions. That’s why we’re bringing together a group of creative thinkers to produce content focused on the topics that matter to them and other young people.

In short the programme will work as follows:

  • First, you’ll join the other young creators for a training in Paris, France from 25-29 April2025 (travel days included). You’ll learn all the tricks to get the story just right, find the perfect way to structure your message and adapt it to your audience. It’s also at this training that we’ll agree on which topics we’d like to talk about in the videos.
  • Then it’s over to you. You’ll get to film and produce a series of videos that raise the visibility of issues that matter to young people. You’ll have plenty of freedom in terms of story format and who you’ll want to work with. We’ll be actively supporting you throughout the journey.

In total, we’ll ask that you produce at least 5 short videos (social media friendly) and 1 long-format video (i.e. ‘a day in the life of’ vlog, or something similar). We’ll provide you with all the skills and tools for this, you just need creativity!

The programme will last for one year and you’ll have the chance to join some EYCA events along the way, connecting with even more young (and older) engaged people across Europe.

What should be my profile?

Applicants should have the following profile:

  • Aged between 18-25years old and live in a country with an EYCA member.
  • Be a passionate advocate about causes relevant to young people, and ready to bring visibility to them.
  • Have some experience (even amateur) in video creation and some social media presence, even through your own channels. You should be comfortable in front of a camera and with reaching out to members of your community.
  • Available to join the training (25-29 April 2025 – travel days included).
  • Be engaged in the programme for its entire duration (until April 2026). Don’t worry, you won’t be busy every day, and you can fit your video creation around your own schedule.
  • While we’re eager for people to speak their minds, EYCA remains a politically neutral entity. As such, you should not be a representative of a political party. The videos should be non-partisan and push for general collaboration to tackle youth issues.
  • Working-knowledge of English – as this is the language we’ll communicate it. The videos will also be produced in English to reach a wider audience.
  • Have a valid European Youth Card.

Of the 8 volunteers selected for the project, we’re looking for: one person enrolled in the European Solidarity Corps and another who’s participating in the DiscoverEU pogramme (with the respective projects/trips taking place between April 2025 – April 2026). If this applies to you, let us know in the registration form!

Another spot will be kept for a member of the EYCA Youth Panel. The five other spots will be selected openly from any applicants with a European Youth Card and respecting the criteria above.

How can I apply?

Step 1

Record a video in English no longer than 60 seconds (i.e. IG reel) according to the following scenario:

You’re organising a local event to pick up litter (i.e. street clean-up). You want to get the community involved, not only to make the area clean but also to encourage people to stop leaving trash around. Make a creative video to bring people to your event and raise visibility on this topic.

*** You don’t need to organise this event; it’s only hypothetical for this application. But if you want to organise one, go for it! ***

Step 2

Upload the video to YouTube as a short.

Step 3

Fill in this application form and don’t forget to include your YouTube link. We may contact you for a quick chat to help us make our final decision.

Deadline for application: 9 March 2025 at 23.59 CET.
